A traditional pre-wedding ritual in which the groom is formally blessed and welcomed by the bride’s family as a symbol of respect, acceptance, and good wishes for the marriage.

A joyful, messy, and beautiful ritual where a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose water is applied to the bride and groom. Haldi purifies and blesses the couple before the wedding, and the golden hue symbolizes prosperity.

A day of intricate henna artistry, music, and celebration. The bride's hands and feet are adorned with beautiful mehendi designs — it is said that the darker the mehendi, the deeper the love between the couple.

The ceremony marks the groom’s joyful departure, as family and friends gather to celebrate with traditional rituals, music, dance, and vibrant festivities.
7:00 PM Onwards · Hotel Samrat, Kautilya Marg, New Delhi
The sacred ceremony under a beautifully decorated mandap. The couple takes seven pheras around the holy fire, each round representing a sacred vow — for food, strength, prosperity, happiness, children, health, and lifelong friendship.
7:00 PM — Midnight · Taj Palace, New Delhi
A grand evening of celebration, dining, and dancing under the stars. The newlywed couple is formally introduced to the world, with speeches, toasts, and a magnificent feast marking the beginning of their journey together.
Sacred Heritage
Every ritual carries centuries of meaning — here's the story behind each celebration.
Dating back to Vedic times, mehendi (henna) is believed to awaken the inner light. The bride's designs often hide the groom's name — he must find it on the wedding night. The cooling properties of henna also calm pre-wedding nerves.
Originally a North Indian tradition, the Sangeet was a women-only affair with folk songs. Today it has evolved into a grand musical evening where both families perform choreographed dances — breaking the ice and forging bonds that last a lifetime.
Turmeric has been revered in Ayurveda for 4,000 years for its antiseptic and beautifying properties. The Haldi ritual purifies the couple before marriage, wards off evil eye, and blesses them with a golden, radiant glow.
The Saat Phere (seven rounds) around the sacred fire is the heart of a Hindu wedding. Agni Devta (the Fire God) is the supreme witness. Each round represents a vow — nourishment, strength, prosperity, happiness, progeny, health, and eternal friendship.
The groom ties the Mangalsutra — a sacred necklace with black beads to ward off evil — around the bride's neck. This thread of love symbolizes their eternal bond and is equivalent to the Western wedding ring, worn throughout life.
After the wedding, the bride kicks a pot of rice with her right foot at the groom's doorstep, spilling the grains — symbolizing that she enters bringing abundance and prosperity. She then steps into vermilion footprints, marking her new home.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) — ~12 km from Hotel Samrat. Direct flights available from Amsterdam (AMS) via KLM and Air India.
Flight time: ~8.5 to 9 hrs direct flight from Amsterdam (AMS) to Delhi (DEL).
Airport to venue: ~25–35 min by taxi. Pre-paid airport cabs, Uber, and Ola are easily accessible.
From Bengaluru (SBC / YPR / SMVB): Connected to major stations in Delhi including New Delhi (NDLS), Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM), and Kacheguda Express routes.
Popular trains: Karnataka Express, Rajdhani Express, and Sampark Kranti Express (~32–34 hrs travel time).
Station to venue: ~15–20 min by cab or auto-rickshaw from New Delhi / Nizamuddin station to Hotel Samrat.
